my little brother most likely has autism...what should i do?
today he went to a child psychologist and they said he likely has autism...he is three and doesn't talk and when he needs something he screams, he is obsessed with trucks, planes, motorcycles etc. and will spend hours head down on the floor watching the wheels of his toy truck...i wont love him less or anything, im just worried because theres a autistic kid in our class and he has a real bad temper like my brother, he'll scream and cry and cus you out so people get pissed and always make fun of him...i know how much the kid at my school suffers and i don't want my brother to end up like that
i don't know how to react...ive been thinking about it so hard ive even started to doubt god was such a great person
if he gets treated and goes to therapy and stuff will he be halfway normal and have a decent life?
My brother has Asperger's. Its a form of high funtioning autism. What you described is basically like my brother. My brother is extemely smart in ways and lacking in others. He loves geography, animals and science but lacks in social skills and still cant tie his own shoes (he is 11). He is extemely emotional in ways and emotionally lacking in ways. He has a bad temper. He says off the wall stuff. He talks about fantasy more than reality. I feel bad sometiems because I feel like he wont be ale to have a normal life. But I know that with help he will. He used to go to a normal school and he got made fun of alot and the teachers thought he had behavioral issues. My parents put him in a special school for other kids with disabilaties and now he does great! He has come a long way. He has better attention, shows more emotion (says I love you back etc), and has friends!!! I am so glad he was able to go to this school because his old school made him very depressed and that was sad he was too young to be depressed. All you can do is love your brother. Be patient, help him and take things as they come.
Good luck to you.
