Van does not want to turn on.?
i have been having problems with my van recently, its a 1.7 Combo (Vauxhall). In the morning when i want to go to work it needs about 3 to 4 attempts to turn on, not to mention that i have to press on the gas pedal. I have tried replacing the glow plugs (spark plugs on a unleaded) thinking it would do the trick but after leaving the car too cool down it would once again fail to turn on from the first attempt. Does any one know what the problem may be?
My car battery is showing a green light which therefore means that it is in full working order according to a little key on the side. Could this be wrong?
Also could it be the alternator?
i would appreciate any participation, as i need my van to work. suggestions on what could be the problem and if possible price to fix... within the UK.
Yes i have changed my fuel filter a few months ago, around February.
The battery is still the first place to start, the battery life indicator on top of the battery is worthless. Get the battery LOAD tested! Or replace it with a known good battery. If its more than 4-5 years old Might be the time to buy a new one.
